Rare 2013-2014 Gibson R9 Les Paul "Transition Burst" Dark Back in Sunrise Tea- Burst. The guitar comes with a special certificate of authenticity from Gibson that identifies it as a Transition Burst. A transition burst is a Les Paul that was actually produced at the very end of 2013 but with all the specs of a 2014 model (un sheathed truss rod, custom buckers, one piece fret board etc.). It even comes with the 2014 switch-plate cover medallion. There were not very many of these made, According to Gibson 25 Transition Burst R9s were done and five of them were dark backs. The condition of the guitar is mint, period! This guitar has never been in a music store show room, and therefor has never been played by some 16 year old Jimmy Page wanna be. This is as "Mint" as it gets. It will ship in the original case. All case candy, including the one-of-a-kind bound certificate of authenticity stating that it is a "Transition Burst". The top on this one is Sunrise Tea-Burst and perfectly quarter sawn and booked for a truly authentic 1959 look. The back is dark, rich burgundy mahogany with great grain. Also, please take a look at the fret board. I haven't seen that rich red color on a fret board in a long time. That's why it is called rosewood in the first place. It is a really very beautiful, as well as extremely rare guitar to find in today's market. The action is very low 1/16th at the seventeenth fret and the guitar plays flawlessly. The Custom Bucker pickups are Gibson's best pickups to date and sound fantastic.
