Made in the Custom Shop to the highest standards of quality and then aged. This guitar has all of the vibe and tone of a real 61 SG. Top notch specs. A solid mahogany body offers up the big tone these guitars are known for. The solid mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays. Dual 57 Classic pickups pump out snarling sustain. A Tuneomatic bridge, Maestro vibrato and Kluson style tuners round out the hardware. The classic heritage cherry red lacquer finish is “the” finish for an SG. It has been aged by Tom Murphy and has all of the cool vibe that you would expect from a Murphy finish. One of the industry''s biggest icons, no collection is complete without an SG! This SG plays and sounds great. Low action and a straight neck make for good playability. The pickups sound excellent. This is a great looking guitar too. The aging is realistic and really cops the vibe of a 60s SG. The certificate was missing when we got it so we contacted Gibson and they confirmed that the guitar is a 2000 Murphy aged SG and that COAs were not issued in 2000. Super cool! Comes in the original brown 90s Gibson hardshell case. The guitar is 7.1 lbs of absolute tone! This is probably one of the better SGs I''ve had in stock in recent memory. I can’t argue with the tone or the look of the small pickguard and beveled body. An incredible SG in a rare aged finish. A new SG Historic reissue with a Maestro will cost you much more in stores and you won''t get the awesome wood and finish that this one has. Here''s your chance to grab a rare guitar at a great price. These model year 2000 reissues are highly sought after and rightfully so!
