Minty late 1979/81 (S9 serial #s were used as late as 81) Fender Hard-tail Stratocaster in see through wine. With maple neck and maple board and in near mint condition with one small paint chip under the guitar and some wear on the underside of the neck, with some light polishing swirls but no major dings etc. We got the guitar from a guy who claimed it was original however the pickups and electronics had been changed out. We purchased a loaded 81 pickguard as 79 through 81 are basically the same. with all original pots, pickups (dated "80"), wiring, knobs and covers and installed everything into a newer guard as the 81 guard was scuffed up (the guard will be included). Neck=5.85k,Middle=5.77k,Bridge=7.55k, pots, switch etc. date to 81 as pictured. And yes the original X-1 pickup is there. This strat stays in tune forever, has a very low action and plays like wildfire. Comes with bridge cover, 79 molded case with black interior and the original flight latches are all functional. Finding a minty 79 hard-tail Stratocaster in this shape is not easy to do and these sought after models command premium prices in this condition.
