Fantastic 59 LP by Peter "Max" Baranet. One of the best luthiers on the planet Max guitars are amazing. Old growth mahogany body, old growth Brazillian rosewood fretboard, amazing sounding pickups, Beautiful maple top done in teaburst, excellent playability and tone with a build quality that is second to none. This guitar sounds and plays amazingly well. If you want a great Les Paul here it is. This is by far one of the best replicas he did. Not a lot to say here.
If you are looking at this listing, it means you know what that means. It is all old growth and high quality old growth at that. You simply cannot find it anymore. Max did all the woodworking years ago and it was not completed until it was sent to Steve Hague to be finished and aged in the proper nitrous cellulose finish and the color is exceptional. It has double creme p/u's that sound fantastic. The parts are all Historic or higher quality and the tailpiece is an absolute marvel. Max was exceptionally impressed with the work on that particular piece when I showed him the completed instrument. CTS pots, Fatboy knobs that have been aged perfectly with just the right amount of green, long steel bushings, wireless bridge for this one, Kluson tuners and I am including a protector case not the reissue case you see in the pics (better for shipping). It sounds perfect. Acoustically she rings like a true '59 and will not disappoint. Yes, Max is done. He's retired. Fine'. He had sold a lot of parts/kits/etc years ago and I had hoped to get him to paint her, but he's gonna have "none of that non-sense. I'm still done." The last kit guitars went on eBay for $21K and $22.5K.. so this is obviously a step up. You will not find anything closer to the Holy Grail than this piece.
